About Me

"Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm ...                                                                                                                       As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others."                                                                                                                   -Audrey Hepburn

My name is Jodie and I am a licensed massage therapist as well as a licensed esthetician. After being a massage therapist for several years I decided to go back to school to learn more about skincare and I love that I get to combine the two things I love, massage and skincare! I graduated from studio beauty school in 2016. I have been practicing as a professional massage therapist since 2011. I Graduated Inland Massage Institute in 2011 and it was an intense year of schooling packed full of anatomy and pathology as well as over 700 hours of indepth massage training and many on sites as well as over 100 clinical hours. In school I even got a taste for each of the different modalities such as medical massage therapy, reflexology, lymphatic drainage, craniosacral therapy, accupuncture and accupressure as well as shiatsu, hot stones, cold stones and all sorts of different spa treatments like paraffin dips and working with mud and salts. Throughout school I was always so eager and excited to learn new things. When it comes to injuries and illnesses I love to do my research so I can help you heal, or find someone that can. I've spent the last 12 years working in chiropractic clinics helping patients while they recover from car accidents, surgeries and other injuries.

I am trained in a variety of modalities and skin care services, such as Therapuetic and Medical Massage, Myofascial release, accupressure, Sweedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Pregnancy massage, Structural Integration, Cold stones, Hot Stones, Lomi Lomi, Sports massage, Geriatrics, Cancer paitent massage, Energy work, microdermabrasion, eyelash extensions, high frequency treatment and much more. Over the next few years I hope to expand my business and gather more knowledge about the human body and learn more skills such as spinal touch therapy, craniosacral therapy, TTouch and learn more about Naturopathic medicine. I am currently working to become a certified equine massage therapist. I also plan to take some business classes as well as learning sign language so I can better communicate with those unable. and you can click on the "Services & Rates" page to learn more about the various techniques I use in my work. For a complete bio including my educational background and approach to massage therapy, simply give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you.

I am also First Aid and CPR trained and have been through my AIDS/HIV training.

What can massage do for me??

Your car needs an oil change every 3000 miles; Your body also needs maintinance every month.

Massage is a neccessity

Massage can be helpful for anyone suffering from traumatic stress disorder, constipation, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, pregnancy aches and pains, fibromyalgia, arthiritic conditions, foot and ankle pains, muscle spasms, healing from a wound or surgery, that pain you have been having and cant figure out what it is and there are many more aches and pains massage can help with. Massage helps to realign tissue that may have once been damaged by injurry, stress or sickness. Massage can also help with postural imbalances from wearing your heavy bag on one shoulder causing some or all of the muscles in your neck to become shortened on one side and lengthened on the other or from wearing to high of high heels causing that exaggerated sway back called lordosis. Be sure to drink PLENTY of water after your massage and for the next 48 hours, Because getting a massage is like a workout for your body in a way that exercise helps tone your muscles, stimulates circulation and releases endorphins making you happier and healthier. You may feel a little sore the next day if you had some deep work done but you should never be in miserable, unbearable pain. You will want to drink plenty of water as all the tissue that has been worked is increasing its oxygen intake and if you don’t drink water you will feel exhausted, sore or even sick the next day. Drinking water also helps to flush those tissues of any waste that may have been built up over time from stress, sickness or injury. Massage can be beneficial to anyone in pain, it can help with depression, stress, anxiety, carpal tunnel syndrom, car accidents, postural imbalances, ADD, ADHD, sprains and strains, undergoing cancer treatment, sore achy muscles, headaches and migrains, trauma, post partum depression and many other ailments.

What can you expect from a massage??

I will have you fill out a health intake form while you wait. Once the paperwork has been filled out I will ask you some questions (like: is their anywhere you would like me to really focus on?? or are their any areas you would like me to stay away from?? is working on your face ok??  Are you wearing contacts?? Do you have high or low blood pressure?? Are you taking any medications, if so what kinds?? Do you have any cardiovascular problems - high or low blood pressure, varicosities, heart mummur, ect??  Any recent injurries, surgeries, inflamations or have you stubbed your toe in the last week?? Do you have cancer - what stage and what kinds of treatment have you undergone?? Is there any chance you could be pregnant?? Is there anything you would like to tell me before we get started or do you have any questions??) and go over the outline of your massage, then I will leave the room as you get undressed and under the sheets, before I step into the room I will knock first to make sure your ready for me to come in. If you have any questions before, durring or after your massage please feel free to ask me at any time. Durring your massage I will periodiclly check in with you to make sure the pressure isnt to much or to little. After your massage is finished I will exit the room and let you get dressed. When you come out to the waiting area I will meet you with some water and give you some self care tips.  Because massage releases endorphins you may feel somewhat intoxicated so you may want to wait a few moments before getting in your car and driving. When getting off the massage table please take your time, stretch your arms and legs out before standing up.You may feel a little sore the next day if you had some deep work done but you should never be in miserable, unbearable pain. You will want to drink plenty of water as all the tissue that has been worked is increasing its oxygen intake and if you don’t drink water you will feel exhausted, sore or even sick the next day. Drinking water also helps to flush those tissues of any waste that may have been built up over time from stress, sickness or injury.

What do I expect from my clients durring a massage session??

All I ask of my clients durring a massage session is to respect my space, relax and become one with yourself. I also ask all my clients to talk to their doctors before getting a massage, because just like changing an exercise routine we should tell our doctors were wanting to get massage but we just want to make sure it will not effect our body in a bad way. Please tell me of any medications you may be taking because it can effect the massage, even if it's an NSAID - anti inflamatory or if your on a blood thinner. I ask all clients to not take medications before their massage unless they are prescribed by their doctor to do so. I will do all the work so their is no need to hold up your arm or leg while I am massaging, because then you wont get the benefits of your massage. I am here to listen and to help comfort and relax you. I will NEVER release anyones information wether it's your best friend  you have known for years or family member. I am the therapist I am here to touch and feed your bodys positive energy and to get rid of all the bad energy. If at anytime you feel uncomfortable please let me know anyway possible. There is NEVER a time when a client should EVER talk about sexual activities or try to engage in any with me the therapist or the session will be terminated immedietly, no questions asked.

Why do i love massage so much??

I love massage for many reasons but what I love the most about massage is seeing someone who has come to me in tremendous amounts of pain and watching their progress over time. I am very passionate about massage and I love telling anyone thats interested in listening about all the great benefits massage has to offer because the power of massage is amasing. I want to show others the natural side of life and that food can help you to get better and taste good at the same time, because not only is taking care of the outside of you beneficial so is taking care of your insides. I always wanted to be in the health care field but I never liked being around the doctors office with all the weird equipment and pills they hand out. I always knew there had to be a healthier alternative to health care, even though massage cant heal it can help to cope with some of the pain. I want to help anyone and everyone I possibly can from the little tikes to the elderly. I want to help animals and humans that have been neglected or afraid of touch for so long to learn to love touch again and realize it’s not so bad after all.
